I’ve always loved Halloween. What’s not to like? I get a chance to dress up as anything I please and show off my mad skillz with a sewing machine. People gasp in amazement and appreciation of my handsomely made costume (I hope). I get to see other people giving it their all as well and discuss with them how cool Halloween is and how great the invention of the Singer sewing machine was for all.... Continue Reading...
After a long wait I got my copy of the Hellsing Volume 7 manga!!! Woohoo! AND, aaannnddd, I got one of only two copies in all of Carbondale. I checked out Barnes & Noble on Saturday but it wasn’t on the shelf. I thought that was odd. Maybe though, there were a ton of Hellsing fans out there that knew when it was being released? I like darker anime, and Hellsing looked pretty fricking dark to me.... Continue Reading...

You don’t really need to worry too terribly much about getting your anime/manga thanks to Netflix, the net, and Barnes and Noble (Walden Books had the best selection of manga in the area, along with acetates and action figures but they’re no longer open). What about snackage and associated beverages? If your tastes are old school American, I’m sure Lay’s and Pepsi has you covered.... Continue Reading...
How did I get started in anime? I think it was 12 years ago. Some kid in my high school art class had a viewing of “Akira
†as part of a “cultural influence on pop art†presentation. I didn’t get it. I liked the style, but the theme at the time, escaped me.... Continue Reading...
