Anime Sales!

Posted by: Mochi In: Anime News

Bubblegum Crisis babeLast time I mentioned that you can watch the first episode of Ah! My Goddess: Flights of Fancy (Season 2) for free on IGN.com. AOL Video is offering the entire Bubblegum Crisis series (the 1987 release, not the 1999 remake) for free viewing and download. There is a major caveat. Both viewing and downloads are limited to the US (probably due to licensing restrictions). To view, you need a recent version of Flash Player (Adobe). To download, you need a Windows PC (videos are DRM protected). Mac users have a work around if they have an Intel Mac, Windows (XP or Vista), and Boot Camp (or Parallels Desktop).

RightStuf International is having another sale. This one is called “The Great Wallet Takeover”. Save 33% on Books & Graphic Novels from Tokyopop. This includes pre-orders. The sale ends May 27, 2007 at 11:59pm CDT. Use coupon code - takeover.

Buy.com has a 50% off sale on select titles (including Neon Genesis Evangelion, Full Metal Panic, and Chrono Crusade). There doesn’t appear to be an expiration date.

Buy.com also has a couple of coupons which may be used for almost anything they sell except game and cellular hardware. Other restrictions: cannot combine with other coupons or promotions. Valid for items labeled “pre-order” or “in stock”. You can save 10% on purchases up to $200. Another couponwithout the purchase total limit is for 7%. Mathematicians will note that the 10% coupon is the better deal until your purchase reaches $286, then the 7% coupon is the better deal. Both coupons expireon May 30 at 11:59pm PT.

AnimeNation continues with their “Funimation” sale. You can save 35% on all Funimation titles. However, this does not include pre-orders. Sale ends May 31. They also have a May Clearance Sale on select items (like books, DVDs, CDs, bags, etc.).

If you visit Borders, then you can print out this coupon for a 20% savings on one item. Restrictions include: previous and online purchases, gift cards, periodicals, comics, non stock special orders, all electronics, Seattle’s Best coffee, and shipping. Also it may not be combined with other coupons, sale pricing, or any discounts (i.e., classroom, corporate or group).The coupon expires June 1. Again, in-store only purchases.

    It’s awesome they’re showing the entire original Bubblegum Crisis series for free - and it’s legal!

    @David

    Yes, I was a bit surprised to see this. Too bad it is restricted to US residents.
    It is interesting to see the other free offerings…US cartoons from the classic
    (Rocky & Bullwinkle and Tom & Jerry) to the sort-of classic (Magilla Gorilla
    and Wally Gator).
