The Anime Blog - We Go Beyond Anime!

Today’s Friday and chances are you love anime. You may not be “in love” with anime, and you may not have an extra toothbrush at its apartment, but you’re probably having a “thing” with anime.

I personally love it. I love the way anime looks, sounds and how it makes me feel. It has a way of making me laugh and of inspiring me to think things I might not usually. Not to mention how pretty anime is, how easy on the eyes. It’s not a superficial affair, however, we have long talks about perseverance and heartbreak, about short term goals and long range plans. I’ve had bad luck with anime lately. I haven’t seen many series, or movies for that matter, in the past few months which make me sit up and pay attention. The anime I have seen have been disappointing and generally a waste of my time. Con season is almost here and I couldn’t be more far from “Yippee!” It’s come to light recently we won’t be attending any anime conventions this year thanks to a deer and our Civic tangoing after dark 10 miles past Carbondale. While we really would love to attend every single con in the continental US, it’s simply not possible to do this year round. There are series which are whispered about at cons. Behind closed doors at secret panels, anime are discussed which are so horrendous, so abysmal, they affect the fabric of space time. Those are the unmentionable series, the ones so bad, the mere utterance of their names brings chaos and destruction.
